BiographyClaire grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada – and now lives on Gabriola Island, British Columbia. Between those places, she has lived in Whitehorse, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and parts of Germany and England.

Currently, she spends much of her time writing fiction and nonfiction for children and young adults. She also does some freelance journalism, and she writes and edits major science-based reports and studies as a member of Eamer Science & Policy.
Claire belongs to the Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers (CANSCAIP), Children's Writers and Illustrators of BC, The Writers' Union of Canada, and the Canadian Science Writers' Association.
