Super Crocs & Monster Wings wins 2008 Science in Society Book Award

The Canadian Science Writers’ Association has given its 2008 Science in Society Youth Book Award to my first science book for kids, Super Crocs & Monster Wings. Super Crocs has also been shortlisted for the 2010 Rocky Mountain Book Award, the Alberta Children’s Choice award.

Awards and nominations

Super Crocs and Monster Wings was nominated for the 2008 Cybils, a series of book awards given by children’s and young adult book bloggers.

Polaris: A Celebration of Polar Science, edited by Julie E. Czerneda (Star Ink Books, 2007) – which includes my story "The Lost Land" – won the 2007 Science in Society Book Award, Young Adult category. The award was presented at the Canadian Science Writers’ Association gala awards banquet in Whitehorse on May 24, 2008. Polaris was also shortlisted for the 2007 Aurora Award for Best Work in English (Other), which honours Canadian science fiction and fantasy.
